ASERCOM welcomes Mr Šefčovič as the new EU climate and environment policy chief to take on this role. Opening up to the latex and press industries to drive the challenges of climate change is a good sign and ASERCOM welcomes this. In order to achieve rapid improvement of a clear and ambitious plan, the possibilities of a well-designed priority plan need to be considered. Access to funding and subsidies to tackle competitive research and production on both sides of the ocean is also a step.
